Soapy Water – Soap spray is a very quick and easy homemade plant spray.  Spray every 5 -7 days.

It is effective for controlling aphids, mites, beetles other small insects.

What You Need:
• Neem Oil 1-2 tsp /16 oz of water or
• 1-2 TB/gal of water
• Peppermint Oil- 1 drop/2oz water or
• 1-2 tsp/1 gal water
• Worm Tea – 1-2 capfuls
• Dish soap 1-2 tablespoons to disperse the oils (Pure Castile Soap)

What You Need To Do:
1. Combine all the ingredients together.
2. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
3. Spray the mixture on the infected plants.
***Don’t worry about the worm tea, if you don’t have any.
***A high quality pure Neem Oil is recommended, and it is optional.

*It is best to apply soap spray in the evening. Do not apply spray in direct sunlight, as it can sunburn plant leaves – known as phototoxicity. Additionally, beneficial insects are less active during evening hours!

Soapy Water Spray 

What You Need:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon dish soap or Murphy oil
2 tablespoons baking soda
2 quarts water

What You Need To Do:
1. Combine all the ingredients together.
2. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
3. Spray the mixture on the infected plants.  Use it as long as you can see the pests in your plants.

*As with any plant treatment or spray, it is “best practice” to apply it to a small test area a day or two before treating a larger area.
